Plunket Electrical services the North Otago, South Canterbury area and the McKenzie basin (Upper Waitaki Electrical for this area)

With approx 45 staff spread over four branches, our highly trained team offer a full range of electrical solutions, catering for home, business, manufacturing plant, dairy shed and irrigation.

Plunket have a considerable involvement with ECANZ. Mike Rawson is the National President, with partners Robbie Julius as Vice President of the Otago branch, Mark Rawson on the executive committee of the Otago branch, and Kelly O'Driscoll the South Canterbury branch Vice President.

We are the nominated subcontractor for the electrical work on The Waitaki District Council water and sewerage pumping stations. We provide maintenance services to engineering firms, bakeries, dairy sheds and all other businesses that require prompt and efficient attention, plus operate a full 24 hour back-up service.

History

  • Plunket Electrical was founded in 1944 by Maurice Plunket
  • The company was taken over in 1979 by Mike Rawson and Robbie Julius, operating out of Oamaru
  • We have continued to grow over the years, acquiring branches in Timaru, Waimate and Twizel
  • We currently employ around 45 staff covering South Canterbury, McKenzie Basin, Waitaki Valley and North Otago
